Our Story
Canuck Kinder was born in 2021 when two cultures merged to create our unique Canadian-Mexican partnership. After discussing and analyzing the methodology followed by schools to make learning happen, we decided we needed to do more, something different. And that is when we established we wanted to create a space where children were respected as individuals and considered to have their own pace in development and learning.

We wanted to give Queretaro citizens an opportunity to attend a school as if they were in Ontario, Canada. A program where students learn through play, exploring, and inquiring about their surroundings, where students see themselves as part of this world and take responsibility for their participation in it. A program where students have a great opportunity to be seen for their abilities and are encouraged to explore them. A place where children can learn to be more independent and know how to make their school, their home.

As educators, our priority is on promoting the healthy development of all our students and enabling them to reach their full potential. Children's health and well-being contribute to their ability to learn, and that is why our Educational Psychologist, Bernadet Rivera, plays such an important role in our school. She will ensure the well-being of our students and will be available as a resource for parents as well.

Children's learning in Kindergarten is "most authentic and effective when it occurs within the context of a "healthy" school – one in which children's learning about health and well-being is reinforced through policies, programs, and initiatives that promote health and well-being" (The Kindergarten Program, 2016). That is why it is a priority for our Principal, Jocelyn Smith, as well as the rest of the staff to ensure that our school remains healthy. This is especially important during the current Covid-19 global pandemic. It is more important than ever to remain vigilant and ensure the safety and well-being of our students
